What's wrong with the Church?

OK, it's soapbox time. I'm upset.
     Are we a bunch of "feel good, don't bother me, I don't have time, let me bury my head in the sand bunch of Christians??
Scripture plainly tells us to "be like our Lord Jesus Christ"
Did Jesus ever walk away from a challenge??
Did He ever shirk His responsibility??
Let's get serious here.
     Jesus was humiliated, beaten, despised, and murdered for us. We can never repay Him for what He's done. But that doesn't mean we can simply do as we please, attend church once or twice a year, never share the gospel, disregard His commandments, and claim to be His. John 15:18
     If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

Then why are we shirking OUR responsibilities, in droves??
There are a LOT of online missions, and petitions, trying to reclaim this country for Christ, and the vast majority of Christians are neither reading or signing them!

For instance, we have a whole page of petitions (by the way, they're FREE to sign...) regarding political, television, and other issues, and no one even looks at it. OR signs the petitions. I'm about to the point to where I'm embarrassed to call myself a Christian, because we've gone from being shakers and movers of the earth to wimpy little "if-we-don't-say-anything-we'll-still-have-friends-everyone-else-will-take-care-of-it-I-don't-need-to-get-involved" DO NOTHINGS!

And what is the result??

     A rapidly growing homosexual agenda, in all media.
     Television programming that makes me want to throw away my TV
     And every other satanic influence imaginable flourishing.
     Rampant pornography.
     Rampant abortions, and growing cases of "infanticide" (visit our Abortion section for complete definitions)

Matthew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Look in your dictionary, look up "prevail". It means that the "gates of hell" will not be able to withstand US. NOT that we are hunkered down in a corner somewhere to escape THEM!
In OTHER words, we are supposed to be on the attack, not the defensive!

as the old saying goes, "Lead, follow, or get out of the way."

If you came here looking for a wimpy little site that's going to tell you that if you prayed a little prayer, never changed anything in your life, don't have to do or say anything to offend anybody, and can just hide in a corner, do as you please and please God, you took the wrong turn somewhere, and you aren't going to like the rest of this site either. If you actually understand that belonging to God, through Christ, will make you take stands on things that are going to offend people, that you are going to be rejected, even as our Lord was rejected, and that you have and need to use a voice, Welcome! We certainly need more of you!
